While the box is fairly well-made, the finishing work was not the best During the final stages of manufacture, they had wiped the outside surfaces with a dampened cloth, leaving a dull surface residue. Once polished away, light surface scratches were revealed on the gloss finish. From a few inches away this is not noticeable, but seemed like a defect that could have been easily avoided.This is not really a standard-size tissue box cover, it is a tissue holder. Plus, if you try to stuff it completely full of tissues, they will fit too tight and tear as pulled from the opening. Even loaded properly, If you try to rip the tissues quickly from the side of the box, they will also tear. Used as intended, this box has been a nice inexpensive addition to my bathroom countertop. Cautiously recommended.Update: Thanks to another reviewer, I found that there was a thin film on the exterior of my box that once removed revealed a perfect gloss finish. Color me stupid. Upgraded to four-stars.Another Update: Found that if you leave the bottom cover off, you can fit 144 tissues into the box. Just place the tissues removed from the standard-size box on a flat surface, cover overtop with the decorative box, and slide into position on your countertop. As long as you do not try to aggressively rip out the tissues, the functionality works perfectly. You can also try the cardboard top/plastic film technique suggested by another reviewer to add flexibility in removing tissues. Nice.I love the timeless marble design. You do have to remove tissues from it's original box and put in this cover. As you can see in my pictures, I cut the cardboard top with the plastic film and taped it inside to keep the tissues from falling back in. Also, when I first recieved my tissue box cover I thought I was going to have to return it because there were scratches all over it. No worries... Duh. There is a thin protective film that you remove. Yes. Many compliments!Does not fit the actual tissue box. You have to take the tissues out of its box and then put them in the dispenser. But then you won't get a whole tissue out, they'll rip apart. Horribly design!
