This makes a good presentation of your Pyrex Bowls. Two things:First, I'd heard/read to use cookie cutters for risers, but here's the difference:1. These are not as hard of a material as the metal of a cookie cutter, so they're not scratching your bowl. I didn't want to put cloth under a cookie cutter because I was afraid of a slip and loosing valuable stuff.2. They appeared to elevate higher than the cookie cutters - I tried them both. These seem to show the bowl better.3. To me, they seemed more balancing than the round cookie cutters due to their shape. I gave these to my wife as a stocking stuffer this past Christmas, and she thought I'd given her cookie cutters, and politely laughed and said, "OK, cookie cutters..." - Translation: "I didn't really need these, but it's Christmas, so I'm being nice about a gift you got me that I never would have gotten myself because I have a ton of them already..." When I told her, "No, it's risers for your Pyrex bowls, she perked up and said, "AWWW! I've heard of these but didn't realize what they looked like!" She really likes them. Second, I really do recommend these if you'll keep your Pyrex in a cabinet, and out of the reach of children, because you still do have bowls up in the air. At our house, we're not in a stage where kids are around much anymore, but I remember those days well, and wouldn't want these where a kid could "investigate" and have any possibility at all of dumping them over. If you're buying these, however, your Pyrex is probably so much of a prized possession that you're keeping it out of the reach of children anyway.
