What I really like is that they are really long and soak up the oil nicely. They don’t char easily, definitely legit fiberglass. They deserve 5 stars for that alone.I bought to replace the wicks in my square table top tiki torches. I suspected the diameter of these would be too big at 1/2 in. And yes, I should have got 3/8 in. However, I was able to force them to fit. Once they are in, they work good. It will just be a little struggle to raise them up when I need more wick.If I were inclined, I could probably ream the opening to accommodate these wicks. I would use progressively larger drill bits until I found one that just let the wick move a bit easier. I dunno what the material is, so drilling it could mean that it would be more likely to rust or corrode. There appears to be some kind of paint or electroplating on the tiki metal parts, so I’ll make do.The original ones in my square tabletop tiki were too short. Probably these 8 wicks will outlast the weathering of the metal parts, even if left stock.Again, these are probably a good replacement for the full size torches, not ideal for the square ones. Look for 3/8 in for the tabletop square ones.
